ΓΡΑΜΜΑ ΣΤΟΝ ΠΡΩΘΥΠΟΥΡΓΟ ΤΗΣ ΛΕΤΟΝΙΑΣ 7/10/2016

Dear Mr Kucinskis,

We are high school students from different countries brought together by a student exchange project that is called Erasmus +. The countries that participate are Latvia,Greece,Italy,Turkey,Portugal and Spain.

We would like to inform you about the aims of the project which are Stereotypes, Racism and Inmigration. During these five days participating in the project we have made a lot of things. The work was essentially about painting, and the themes were about stereotypes, inmigration and racism. We made a tree to represent our own country and we had a workshop graffiti to represent one of the themes (racism, stereotype and inmigration).

Throughout our opinions may defy for many things ,we all are against racism and stereotypes that come from it. We don’t support racism because we are all equal inside, we don’t support having stereotypes because we should be friendly and respectful to each other.

Sadly, there are refugees everywhere, and many stereotypes surrounding foreign people, like the negative view that Latvians have for gypsies, calling them ‘thieves and burglars’. Also,Greeks have a very bad opinion about people who came from different countries. Everyone has stereotypes and bad opinions about other people but some choose to help the ones in need like Italy does with the large number of associations that are taking care about the refugees by giving them food, warm clothing and shelter or how people in Spain have been helping associations that assist refugees as the same way as Italians do.

Thanks to Erasmus+ program we learned more about other countries cultures and traditions through team work and activities. We are glad we got the chance to write you this letter with our thoughts.

Yours sincerely,

Students of Eramus + project.
